Today is Earth Overshoot Day 2025, the date when humanity’s demand for ecological resources and services this year exceeds what Earth can generate before the end of it. As described here, to determine the date of Earth Overshoot Day each year, the Global Footprint Network, an award-winning international research and non-profit organization, combines data and forms the most reasonable assumptions to assess humanity’s resource situation. Each year, this Day is trending earlier and earlier. For the rest of 2025, we are borrowing resources from 2026. As the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres reacted: “The Earth's natural systems cannot keep up with our demands. We must repair our relationship with climate and nature. It's time to rethink the way we produce and consume - making sustainable choices that will add up to the change we need for a better future for all. From recycling to reducing food waste and driving less, each of us can take action to help build a more sustainable world.” While we know that big corporations and the fossil fuel industry have critical responsibility on this issue and we must call them out, we can all do our part to support the stability and resilience of Earth. I am always happy to share and brainstorm on ideas for action.

Regarding my art, some of the art shows were I will be participating soon are:

And still on: DESHIELO, permanent virtual show of i3C & guest artists, curated by Liliana Folta & Verónica Parselis, at the UCA (Catholic Argentine University), Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Until next time!

You have taken on such a mighty cause, Adriana. Thank you for caring. Also, lovely painting. It is beautiful, regardless of the painful associations with wild fires. I see the Phoenix rising in it. All the best with your coming exhibitions!
