Celebrating Earth This Spring

While for environmentally concerned individuals, the reality of the climate crisis is hard to take, this Spring has been especially inspiring thanks to many people who are still committed to mitigating its effects and bringing societal ways that are more environmentally sustainable. Think about the recent First Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels (Santa Marta Conference), held in Colombia, co-hosted by Colombia and the Netherlands, that brought together 57 nations and stakeholders to establish a "coalition of the willing" for curbing fossil fuel production.

It is also exciting to share about some special opportunities related to my art and my environmental mission, happening this season:

  • A few weeks ago I participated in the 1st Nature Salon, organized by Sustainability of Sustainability, exhibiting my work and also representing the i3C artists group. The one day event took place at Harvard University (Cambridge, MA). The Nature Salon is a series of opportunities for dialogue driving sustainability issues among multidisciplinary fields: artists, scientists and entrepreneurs. The event consisted of roundtable conversations, networking, and an art exhibit by remarkable participating artists working on the intersection of environmental, ecological and science areas. The brainstorming sessions and exchanges directed to identifying how to effectively produce a cultural shift to more ecologically sustainable ways left me excited about the initiative and the future.

  • I have been invited to give an artist talk and exhibit a collection of my works at the Parisian offices of the non-profit organization Citepa. The exhibit, "Evidence on canvas: visualizing climate change", will be a solo show of my works in Paris, France, later this month. Citepa is a non-profit organization committed to the ecological transition. Its mission is to produce and deliver reliable knowledge on air pollutants and greenhouse gases, support public and private decision-makers, and strengthen the capacities of countries in addressing climate change and air pollution. I am honored and thrilled with the opportunity.

  • The exhibit “Listening to Our Planet”, Cambridge Art Association’s exhibit to celebrate Earth Day that I was invited to jury, is now open and it looks incredible, a perfect inspiration to re-examine our connection to nature. You can visit it until June 5th at the CAA @ Canal Gallery (650 E Kendall St, Cambridge MA). More info here.

  • Lastly, I hope you can visit "Earth Day #57:  What does this mean to you?", group exhibit of i3C Artists and Guests at Gallery 103 (2 Haven St, Reading, MA), until June 19th, 2026. Curator Bill Turville did a fantastic job bringing a powerful collection of works to a writer’s collaborative learning space to celebrate Earth Day season. More info here.

See you in July!
