Plant Based Food to Save Earth

Have you ever considered shifting to a plant based lifestyle and reducing meat consumption? Some interesting facts are that a plant based diet is associated with reduced chronic disease risk, in addition to having a high potential for reducing carbon footprint, requiring less resources than animal products, conserving water, land and forest, among other important aspects to help prevent species extinction. I recently became aware of the Plant Based Treaty (PBT) organization that promotes a shift towards a just, plant-based food system that would enable us to live safely within our planetary boundaries (remember them from my Aug 2025 blog post?) and reforest the Earth. Similar to the Single-Use Plastic Treaty, PBT’s vision is a global Plant Based Treaty attached to the Paris Agreement, and best practices in plant-based food policies implemented by cities and other institutions. I hope you can join me in signing the Plant Based Treaty here. Join this critical movement!
